United States, 25 February 2017 -- CLA Safflower Oil, a weight loss miracle or just another hype?
You guys asked me about CLA so here's my thoughts on it. Now, I won't be telling you whether or not you should be buying it or not. I will, however, be giving you guys some information on it so that you can decide for yourselves on whether or not using CLA to burn fat is a good idea and whether or not investing in a CLA supplement would be a good investment.
First off, what is this CLA that I keep mentioning? Conjugated linoleic acid is the name for certain groups or combinations of polyunsaturated omega 3 fatty acids, essential nutrients unable to be produced naturally in the human body. CLA is an isomer of linoleic acid, there are different isomers of CLA or different forms. If you don't know what an isomer is, basically the term is used to describe a compound that has the same number of atoms of the same elements but may differ in actual chemical structural arrangement or in property.
Different isomers of CLA may have different properties. To burn fat, I must mention this right now that you have to use a supplement to get high amounts of CLA because despite CLA being found naturally in animal products such as cattle beef and cow's milk, there's too little of it. How much CLA do you need to make a difference in fat burning? Well, not sure how big of a difference you'd make with it but you'd need about 3.2 grams or more, daily. The benefits according to studies are small, modest even at best but obviously combining CLA supplementation with exercise and dieting will give you very good results, you're not supposed to use it alone, that'll get you nowhere. CLA isomers found in dairy products might have potential anti-carcinogenic benefits while those found in pastured beef might have positive effects on regulating body fat.
There are some inflated rumors or claims out there about CLA, which aren't fully true. CLA is unreliable and inconsistent, this is the scientific and clinical proof taken from study and trial results. Some may claim that it can treat cancer, reduce tumor size, burn fat, boost the immune system and so on but in humans these effects are lacklustre. Also, please consult a medic before you take CLA because it has certain effects on things such as insulin resistance which in a person with diabetes could prove harmful.
