The 10 shortlisted designs will be exhibited in the very important MIPIM Asia trade show on 18th - 21st November in Hong Kong where major developers, consultants and financiers will see the designs. The designs will also be shown at the 3-month long Hong Kong & Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale on the West Kowloon Cultural District site from 4th December to 27th February 2010.

Greenville Student Design Competition is open to university students of China. The brief is to design sustainable and affordable earthquake-proof housing for Sichuan. Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan, is taking a leading role in the earthquake rebuild and urbanization as a China Urban and Rural Integrated Experimental Zone. The two programmes in the Greenville Student Design Competition respond to this specific urban development. The first programme is to design residential buildings to be located in the Sichuan Rural Area to accommodate 100 household units and in 2-3 storey high housing. The second programme to design residential buildings to be located in Sichuan Urban Intermediate Zone to accommodate 150 household units and with a maximum height of 35 metres.

This is a wonderful opportunity for student architects from Hong Kong and China to get their work known to the international design firms, consultants and developers. Registration closes on 9th October and entries submission closes on 8th November. The awards will be presented during the MIPIM Asia Awards ceremony on 18th November.
