CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0 Brings Enhanced ALM Capabilities to Japanese Market
Leading Platform for Distributed Software Development Now Available at Reduced Entry-Level Pricing Without Any Functional Restrictions
BRISBANE, CA--(Marketwire), 6 October 2008 -- CollabNet® today announced general availability of the Japanese version of CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0, bringing enhanced ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) features to the industry-leading Web-based development platform to the Japanese market.
The new release empowers teams to model their preferred ALM processes with customizable project pages, and then capture and share workflows, best practices, and other project content to promote process standardization. Specific enhancements include:
1. Usability. User interface improvements and improved navigation.
2. Configurable Project Pages as Basis of ALM
o Configurable Project Pages
Rapidly design the structure of project sites and establish the development process and methodology for the project.
o Portlet-like Project Page Components
Configurable project components help individual project teams and users quickly customize project pages.
o True WYSIWYG HTML Editing
Full-featured editor enables even users with no HTML skills to add rich content to project pages.
3. Project Templates
New project templates allow project managers to use existing projects as a blueprint for new projects. These templates are a configurable starting point to jump-start new projects or as a fixed standard to enforce lifecycle processes, artifact relationships and workflows.
Entry Level Pricing
To benefit any size team, CollabNet announced reduced entry-level pricing of 890,000 Yen per year, for a server license with basic support for the first 25 users. Unlike other vendors whose lower priced offerings restrict features, CollabNet provides the full enterprise product without functional restrictions. Everything available to CollabNet's largest Fortune 500 customers is now available at an affordable price point to the smallest development teams.
"CollabNet is the only industry solution that maximizes both simplicity and flexibility in the way the projects are set-up, allowing teams to roll-out development processes and adopt ALM at their own pace," said Taki Katashiba, Vice President of Asia-Pacific for CollabNet. "With new project page and templating enhancements, Visual Studio and Eclipse integrations, and attractive new server pricing, teams of any size can now realize the benefits of ALM."
