• 1st locally produced film that documents the existence of the Supernatural • Film contains 20 evidences of unexplained entities caught on camera • DVD to be released on 29 April 2007 to mark the one year anniversary of the Organisation for Supernatural Research and Investigation Singapore, 11 April 2007 -- Move over horror flicks, here comes the real stuff. Singapore-based Organisation for Supernatural Research and Investigation (SUPERNATURAL), in conjunction with its first year anniversary celebration, will be releasing a film containing its own collection of 20 authenticated evidences of the Supernatural. The film to be released on the 29th of April 2007 at the Singapore Expo is believed to be the first of its kind in Singapore. Produced over a period of 3 months, the 1-hour documentary-style production is made entirely by its core members and features photos and videos of entities captured over the period from March 2006 to February 2007. Other than the evidences, the film also contains re-enactments of the experiences felt and seen by the Supernatural Investigators, interviews as well as witnesses accounts. The film intends to be educational as it presents Singapore in a perspective never seen before. A total of 12 un-named places were selected where Supernatural sightings were reported and recorded. Commenting on the film, Mr Fahmi Rais, Founder and Executive Director said, “We position our Organisation as the global reference point for Asian Supernatural. As a responsible research body, we see it as our duty to share what we have learnt, experienced and obtained from our various recces and investigations with the mainstream public. This film is our contribution but in no way are we trying to force viewers to accept what we have documented. The decision to believe or not to, is left to the discretion of the thinking audience.” By producing this film, SUPERNATURAL hopes to encourage deeper appreciation of the spiritual world through inter-cultural and inter-religions understanding. It is also the producer’s intention for this film to provide a good reference for any further studies on the Supernatural and the Paranormal. “The Supernatural debate has been going on since time immemorial. It is in the Holy Scriptures and forms the bedrock of major religions in the world. Despite the science and technology age, many of us are still intrigue by what lies beyond our known dimension. At the very least, this film should be viewed as an attempt to preserve age-old beliefs,” added Fahmi. The Organisation differentiates itself from other paranormal groups by specializing in Asian occultism, demonology, possession and exorcism. Given that positioning, SUPERNATURAL is the only paranormal research group that attempts to further understand the mysteries of the spiritual realm as seen from the perspectives of local Chinese, Malays and Indians. The Organisation has since its official formation on 1 May 2006: 1) Launched its online portal on 06/06/06 2) Have attracted almost 700 registered online forum users in http://www.supernatural.sg/forum, making it the second highest local forum site on the supernatural/paranormal, after SPI 3) Conducted two Singapore Supernatural Workshops on Demonology and Exorcism 4) Conducted four Supernatural Evidence Trails (themed ghost tours) and 2 Supernatural Expeditions (Tanjung Karang, Selangor and Pulau Ubin) 5) Aligned to international paranormal groups eg London-based Institute of Paranormal Research and United Kingdom Society of Paranormal Research Targeting at both locals and tourists, ‘Ghosts – The Singapore Hauntings’ will be released on both DVD and VCD formats, and distributed by regional music label company, Life Record. The DVD and VCD will be retailed at $14.90 and $12.90 respectively. Special promotional offers will be available for the first 500 copies during its launch at the Singapore Expo (hall number and timing to be advised).
