Global PVC Pipes Market Outlook : Size, Share, Growth, Trends And Forecast 2018-2023

united states, 18 July 2018 -- The global PVC pipes market has witnessed a moderate growth over the past few years. This can be attributed to the various beneficial properties of PVC pipes such as cost-efficiency, durability, flexibility, inertness and eco-friendliness.

PVC pipes are manufactured by the extrusion of a blend of polymer resin (PVC) and various additives. Plasticizers may or may not be added to this mixture to impart flexibility or rigidity to the pipe. After heating this blend, the mixture is forced into a die which results in the production of rigid/flexible PVC pipe. These pipes are then sized, cooled, hauled off and cut in the desired length. PVC pipes are rust-free, durable, hard to damage and do not wear over time. Owing to these factors, PVC pipes are commonly used in sewer lines, water systems and underground wiring. A new research report by IMARC Group, titled “PVC Pipes Market: Global Industry Trends, Share, Size, Growth, Opportunity and Forecast 2018-2023” estimates that the market crossed a volume of 21 Million Tons in 2017. The report further anticipates the market to reach a volume of nearly 29 Million Tons by 2023, at a projected CAGR of 5% over the forecast period.

Market Drivers/Constraints:

PVC pipes have a smooth inner surface and are capable of handling high liquid pressure. This makes them suitable for piping applications in the construction industry which is growing due to rapid urbanization and inflating incomes, thereby stimulating the demand for PVC pipes worldwide.

One of the primary factors for the wide acceptance of PVC pipes among the consumers is their distinctive properties such as flexibility, eco-friendliness, light-weight, ease of installation, cost-effectiveness, non-toxicity, resistance to corrosion and inert nature.

PVC pipes are replacing traditional concrete pipes in the disaster-prone areas as they can withstand extreme movements, rigorous shaking and bending without experiencing any damage.

PVC pipes are brittle and prone to thermal deformation which limit their usage for transferring fluids at room temperature. Apart from this, the availability of substitutes, such as high-density polyethylene (HDPE), steel, cross-liked polyethylene (PEX), etc., are restricting the growth of the PVC pipes market.
