Globalysis Sees Dubai Tourism Growth of Approximately 8% in 2008
LAS VEGAS, NV and DUBAI--(Marketwire), 7 May 2008 -- Globalysis Ltd., a leading international boutique travel and leisure sector strategy consultancy, today issued its 2008 travel and leisure sector industry outlook report for Dubai, UAE. The report provides an executive level perspective of Dubai's tourism sector in 2008 in addition to strategic analysis.
According to the Globalysis report, Dubai is experiencing dynamic development of its hotel capacity, entertainment options, and tourist oriented luxury retail facilities, which is in turn strategically positioning Dubai favorably with European and Asian tourists. The Globalysis report estimates that international visitor arrivals into Dubai will grow at approximately 8% in 2008 driven by robust airline connectivity and favorable marketing efforts of the destination.
Mr. Jason Pereira, Senior Associate at Globalysis Ltd. stated, "The performance of Dubai's travel and leisure sector in 2008 has been favorable and the outlook moving forward remains bright. The combination of increased airline service to Dubai and high-quality tourism offerings is attracting the globally minded leisure tourist and sophisticated business traveler."
Globalysis defines the travel and leisure sector as encompassing the hotel lodging, entertainment, airline, casino gaming (where applicable), and leisure oriented real estate development. Many countries throughout the world have identified tourism sector development as a primary pillar of economic growth over the next decade, particularly nations in the greater Asian region.
The report also highlights certain risks that Dubai's travel and leisure sector may face over the next year. These risks include factors such as sustained high inflation in Dubai, oversupply of tourism oriented real estate developments, and regional geopolitical risks.
