Procera Networks Extends High-Performance DPI Platform for Edge, Access Deployments
PL10002 Provides Carrier-Grade Performance in a Compact Multi-GE PacketLogic Chassis
LOS GATOS, CA--(Marketwire), 7 October 2008 -- Procera® Networks Inc. (AMEX: PKT), a developer of Evolved Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions providing traffic awareness, control and protection for complex networks, today announced an addition to the PacketLogic™ PL10000 family of products, currently the industry's highest-capacity DPI platform. The PacketLogic PL10002 is a compact, 3RU chassis with up to four gigabit Ethernet (GE) channels at full wire speed and 500,000 subscribers on a single industry standard AdvancedTCA chassis suitable for link aggregation and redundant DPI deployments at the edge or access of broadband networks. PL10002 gives service providers the business intelligence, service creation, network visibility and control required to successfully roll out new revenue-generating services and optimize network performance.
The PL10002 is purpose-built for Tier-1 broadband networks -- both wired and wireless -- offering carrier-grade performance with full redundancy on vital components such as cooling and power supply. And, as part of the PacketLogic family, accuracy and performance have not been compromised in favor of capacity; the PL10002 includes PacketLogic's renowned traffic identification engine, DRDL™, which has been validated by third parties like Tolly to be the most accurate DPI engine available today. It also comes with the new and unique functionality that was incorporated in version 12 of the PacketLogic firmware, released with the PL10000 in May, which includes Flow and Queue Sync for asymmetric traffic support with minimum overhead traffic.
"We've experienced a demand for our high-end PL10000 product line that exceeds our initial projections by far," said Jon Lindén, Procera's vice president of global marketing. "We're constantly learning new customer demands, and the new PL10002 satisfies a need below our highest capacity PL10000 platforms, but with equal resilience and reliability, for deployments closer to the customer access of the network."
The PacketLogic PL10000 series is now populated with the following options: PL10002 is a compact 3RU chassis with 1-4 GE channels, the PL10005 is a 10 gigabit Ethernet (10GE) solution in a 5RU chassis, and the PL10014 hosts multiple 10GE channels in a 12RU chassis that scales to 80 Gbps throughput, which is unchallenged in a single DPI chassis.
The PacketLogic PL10002 is available now. Interested parties can find out more by visiting http://www.proceranetworks.com/pl10000 or meeting Procera at the NGT Summit, which is taking place October 28-31 in Dallas.
