Singapore, 9 May 2008 -- Singapore Food Industries Limited (SFI) has been commissioned to provide consultancy services to set up a new food factory plant in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The consultancy services are divided into two phases. The first phase being the consultancy services (contract value of USD0.5million) is to provide subject matter expertise in the building and construction of the factory. The second phase, the transfer of technical knowledge and operating support, is still subject to negotiation. “This is in line with our moving forward business strategy to export our know-how in retort manufacturing, ready meals. Work has already commenced with our client and is in the stage of finalising the plant layout and the required specifications for equipment and packaging materials,” said Roger Yeo, CEO. This project is being contracted through SFIM, a wholly owned subsidiary.
