She's Got the Moves: Sophistication, Style, and More
WowWee's Revolutionary RS Femisapien(TM) Robot Reigns as the New Dancing Queen
HONG KONG, CHINA--(Marketwire), 9 September 2008 -- Whoever said robots can't dance - or more importantly, they can't be female? WowWee, an Optimal Group company (NASDAQ: OPMR), has announced the launch of the interactive and distinctly female RS Femisapien™ robot, the latest in the line of sophisticated, walking, talking, personality-packed robots. Featuring advanced design and artificial intelligence, the RS Femisapien robot is a revolution in biomorphic robotics with the ability to move in uniquely fluid ways and respond to touch, sight and sound.
Programmable to perform a routine of movements, functions and sounds up to 80 steps long, the RS Femisapien robot can perform runway struts, present business cards and even blow kisses. Built-in infrared sensors allow her to detect and avoid objects, while sound sensors enable her to move and groove to music and other auditory stimuli.
Dubbed by some as a "friend" of the Robosapien™ robot - one of the most popular entertainment robots in the world with global sales of more than 5 million units - the 15-inch tall RS Femisapien robot is independent and communicative, featuring gentle sounds and gestures to interact with her environment and the unique ability to control and interact with other WowWee robots.
The RS Femisapien robot exudes sophistication and style with 56 different functions and an additional 59 hidden functions for users to discover. She is controlled through responsive joystick hands that change her function depending on the touch. She also features three modes that can be accessed with just a tilt of her head : The modes include Attentive Mode with interactive wandering, seeing, hearing, and dancing; Learning Mode to program an animated routine of sounds and movements; and Responsive Mode to play back the learned sequences.
The RS Femisapien robot also includes battery-saving features. When she does not receive any commands for approximately 5 minutes, she will enter Standby Mode. After an additional 5 minutes in Standby Mode, or if she is left lying on her back for more than 10 seconds, she will enter Sleep Mode. After 2 hours in solitude, she will power-down and can be reactivated by the power switch located on the back of her neck.
The Femisapien robot is currently available online at major retailers including Walmart.com, Sears.com, Target.com, Buy.com, Amazon.com, Toysrus.com, and the WowWee Online Store for an approximate retail price of $99. The Femisapien robot is appropriate for ages 8 years and up and requires 6 "AA" batteries. The WowWee Roboremote™ controller and the Robosapien robot's remote controller (both sold separately) can also be used to control the RS Femisapien robot for interactive routines.
