Stage and Screen launches in India
India, 11 June 2008 -- FCm Travel Solutions’ Australasian-based entertainment travel brand, Stage and Screen Travel Services, has established operations in India as part of its global expansion strategy. The company will be providing travel and logistics management to India's film and television, sports, performing arts, music, fashion and media sectors
Stage and Screen Travel Services is the first Asia-Pacific based entertainment travel specialist to operate in Indian market and offer international service capabilities and reach. Gregory Lording, Global Leader of Stage and Screen Travel Services, said that India's Bollywood phenomenon has helped drive a growing need for Stage and Screen’s services in the country.
“India has become one of the strongest emerging markets for entertainment travel services. The country has also experienced significant foreign direct investment in its media, entertainment and sporting industries," he said. “We believe that it is the right time for Stage and Screen to enter India as the sporting sector is set to boom with major events in the pipeline. A growing number of international teams are headed to India, while Indian teams and professional sporting identities are competing abroad.” said Mr. Lording.
The foray into India follows the company's recent expansion into North America. Mohit Khanna, who is the Business Head of the M.I.C.E. Department of FCm Travel Solutions India, has been appointed the Manager of Stage and Screen Travel Services India and will lead the company’s operations in Mumbai and Delhi.
FCm Travel Solutions is a renowned name in the corporate travel segment in India and expects to become successful in its new venture as well. The company is the corporate wing of Australia’s biggest travel agency group Flight Centre Limited and is present in over 60 countries across the world. FCm India has over 900 clients in 20 cities and its turnover figure in the fiscal year 2006-07 was INR 10 billion. Flight Centre Limited has also recently launched its leisure travel business in India under the Flight Shop banner.
