The Pros and Cons of Using Clip in Hair Extensions

, 25 June 2019 -- Hair extensions come in many types and forms, and it is up to the person using them to know which would suit their needs the best. As with most other things, this requires a bit of investigation and experimentation before one can nail the style that best fits their needs

With tape-in-hair, clip-in-hair, braided extensions and a multitude of other options available, it is hard to pick which really allows one to stand out. In this article, let’s take a look into clip in hair extensions and see the many pros and cons they may offer to a person.

For those who may be unaware, these are a type of hair extensions that clip onto natural hair. These clips are sewn onto the weft of the extension. The actual width of these can usually vary depending on the area of the head the extension is being applied to. They are quite a popular form of extension primarily because it has many benefits:

They can be worn and taken out with relative ease, allowing for a lot of versatility. For people who do not want to be fully committed and instead want to try out temporary styles, clip in hair extensions present the perfect solution.

One can adjust their length and color as they please and are not bound to any one particular style that they may have tried out.

One doesn’t need to go to a salon or a professional hairdresser to put these on or off and they can even be done from the comfort of one’s own home.

When compared to some of the alternative methods of hair extensions, these tend to be much more affordable and within the price range of people on a budget.

Above all, they do not cause any damage to one’s natural hair. The same cannot be said for all kinds of extensions as some of them do put stress on one’s natural hair.

However, to counter these benefits, these types of hair extensions can also have certain disadvantages. Clip in hair extensions cannot be worn all the time, and before sleeping one will need to take them off. It is hard to apply these to thin hair due to the bulkiness of the clip. They aren’t permanent and may fall off during the day. Furthermore, they require proper take care otherwise they only last a few months.
