University of Phoenix is Title Sponsor of GETEX, the Middle East's Largest Education Fair
PHOENIX, ARIZONA--(Marketwire), 31 March 2008 -- University of Phoenix, a leader among North American universities and the global pioneer in online learning, is the title sponsor of The 2008 Gulf Education & Training Exhibition (GETEX), the largest education fair in the Middle East and Asia.
Taking place at Dubai's International Convention & Exhibition Centre from April 2-5, GETEX and University of Phoenix will host 600 exhibitors from more than 40 countries, attracting approximately 35,000 attendees.
"We are honored to be part of GETEX's global education event," said, Peter Martinez, VP Director, International for University of Phoenix Online.
"With GETEX providing a communication platform for students seeking higher education in the Middle East, we believe this is an ideal showcase for University of Phoenix," he said.
Martinez continued, "Through our sponsorship of the event, we are reaching out to all students interested in pursuing higher education in the Middle East, inviting them to attend the event and discuss with us the process of advancing their degree."
Explaining that the "University of Phoenix reinvented higher education for working professionals who want to earn a degree without putting their lives on hold," Martinez said, "it has helped hundreds of thousands of people achieve the dream of a education."
Martinez highlighted the University's relevant curriculum and unique academic model as some of the reasons University of Phoenix students find their course work engaging, meaningful and valuable in today's world. The University's academic model allows students to focus on their studies one discipline at a time. "As well, we set high standards for providing assistance and quality counseling services to our student." Martinez added.
When it comes to our international students, Martinez said, "Many appreciate that the University takes into account both their professional business experience, their prior education and their demanding lives."
Raj Kapoor, the University of Phoenix's director of its student liaison center in Dubai's Knowledge Village, said, "students and potential students now have access to counselors who understand the needs of the international student." The new center serves students in the Middle East and Asia and provides counselors to those looking for information and enrollment options through University of Phoenix.
"University of Phoenix is honored to join the Dubai community by providing an opportunity for adult students and professionals to pursue their dream of finishing or advancing their undergraduate or graduate degrees," Kapoor said.
Kapoor explained, "Through University of Phoenix's online structure, working adults have access to a well-recognized, U.S. accredited institution with a wide variety and breadth of degree programs and courses, all without have to physically travel to evening or weekend classes."
"University of Phoenix is a pioneer in the use of technology in higher education" Kapoor said. "At University of Phoenix, technology is incorporated into all aspects of the educational experience, from support services to interactive tools, such as online simulations, web-based tutorials and electronic learning materials."
According to Kapoor, "Our use of technology has helped working adults overcome barriers to finishing their degrees while maximizing the use of technology to create a rigorous academic program. Ultimately, our success is measured by the success of our graduates, who at the end of their degree programs tell us their University of Phoenix experience added value to and improved their professional success."
