Vision Solutions Announces New Global Information Availability Resources
New World Pages and Systems Management Tips Blog Support Growing IBM Power Systems' Market
IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire), 5 May 2008 -- Vision Solutions, the leading high availability and disaster recovery solutions provider in IBM Power Systems markets (NYSE: IBM), today announced a newly created blog providing systems management tips for IBM i (i5/OS and OS/400) operating environments. Updated with new tips each week and provided at no cost to readers, the informative web page is found at http://visionsolutionsinc.blogspot.com.
"We're taking an enormous collective wealth of systems management knowledge residing among the nearly 200 technicians at Vision Solutions and sharing it with the System i community," says Paul Wade, director of SMB products for Vision Solutions and main editor of the blog. "Already available are a significant number of tips, shortcuts and other unique ideas for better managing i environments and new ones are collected from our technical staff each week."
Along with accessing these tips via the blog website, they can be automatically delivered to a web browser via syndication feeds like RSS 2.0, Atom, iGoogle, MyYahoo, and MSN. On top of this, Google Desktop users can download a free "gadget" (mini desktop application) that captures and presents tips via RSS feed within the Google Desktop environment. Widgets/gadgets for Windows Vista and the Apple Mac will soon be available. Links to the blog, its syndication feeds as well as the Google Desktop widget can be found on the blog or at VisionSolutions.com/Director.
Additional new Web-access resources include the launch of Vision Solutions' World Pages -- the online resource library that is a result of Vision's worldwide growth. The Company's ongoing commitment to provide valuable high availability and disaster recovery resources, such as white papers and case studies in multiple languages will help international companies better understand system availability technologies and options. This is yet another example of Vision leading the way within IBM's Power Systems' market.
"For companies of all sizes, Vision's products are becoming the preferred choice for business resiliency, disaster recovery and high availability," says Ed Vesely, senior vice president of marketing at Vision Solutions. "With this in mind, we are working tirelessly to provide a wealth of technical information to a growing worldwide audience and our goal is to make it as accessible as possible via local languages and web technologies."
With a growing library of white papers such as "The Essential Guide to Disaster Recovery: How to Ensure IT and Business Continuity," Vision is adding new regional translated case studies every week. "International companies prefer success stories from names they know and trust. When visitors to our site can read about other local companies who have had success with Vision -- and do so in their native language -- decision making is easier," says Vesely.
To support their already popular iTERA™ HA, ORION™ HA and MIMIX® HA solutions, Vision Solutions will continually expand their international HA and DR resources library. To view white papers, regional case studies and product information in Chinese, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch and Portuguese, simply visit VisionSolutions.com/World for more information.
