Vision Solutions Passes Prestigious Benchmark for AIX on IBM Blades
Affordable HA and DR Solution Supports SMB Market Needs for
Availability on Power Systems
IRVINE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE), 23 July 2008 -- IRVINE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/23/08 -- Vision Solutions, the leading high availability and disaster recovery solutions provider for IBM Power Systems markets, today announced an important milestone in its global market roll-out of EchoCluster for AIX by passing compatibility testing with IBM's BladeCenter JS21 Express and SAN hardware. The validation benchmark was conducted on hardware at IBM's Shenzhen Power Systems testing facility in China by team members from both IBM and Vision's AIX development laboratory near Boston.
"We're pleased to see Vision continually supporting the rapidly growing mid-market of IBM Power Systems with this latest certification on JS21 Blade Servers," says Liu Hong Bin, manager of Systems & Technology Group channel enablement, IBM China. "Given the demand, this new combination is likely to do very well."
Vision Solutions' EchoCluster keeps AIX applications up and running through continuous server monitoring and immediate, automated failover to a secondary server, ensuring IBM customers keep critical applications highly available on local or remote servers. In support of Vision's goal to offer affordable and innovative disaster recovery solutions for the SMB marketplace, EchoCluster can be used in conjunction with EchoStream for data replication with any-point-in-time Continuous Data Protection (CDP). This combination is an excellent choice for heterogeneous storage environments resulting from mergers and acquisitions, offering full ROI on all current hardware.
"We continue to build upon our excellent working relationship with IBM's Shenzhen test-center team. This recent milestone validates our EchoCluster and EchoStream solutions are compatible with IBM's BladeCenter and DS3400 storage environments," says Henry Martinez, senior vice president of engineering for Vision. "Our collaboration allows us to reduce time to market while increasing product quality, which fills an emerging market need of solid performance, low-complexity and price-point compatibility on IBM's Power blades."
With affordable pricing, ease-of-use functionality and an installation typically measured in days, EchoCluster and EchoStream provide workable solutions for companies of all sizes.
"Enjoying the safety of nonstop, automated protection of the bank's data in a highly sensitive production environment saves time, money and labor and creates ever more trust and confidence for our customers," says Deputy IT Director for the Russia's Raiffeisenbank and current client, Alexander Makarov.
Passing the prestigious benchmark further extends Vision Solutions' value proposition for mid-market customers by supporting EchoCluster and EchoStream on new IBM platforms such as the BladeCenter, including options for consolidating and sharing data on compatible platforms such as the IBM DS3400.
